The HC150 Heated Humidifier from Fisher & Paykel improves patient comfort and compliance by providing warmed, humidified air during CPAP and BiPAP therapy. It is an external heated humidifier and therefore is compatible with almost any CPAP or BiLevel Machine including those from Respironics, ResMed, Puritan Bennett, Covidien, DeVilbiss, Fisher & Paykel, Somnetics, Probasics and others.
MORE COMFORTABLE THERAPY
Up to 80% of CPAP/BiPAP users complain of upper airway or nasal symptoms which can occur due to cold, dry air during therapy. Unfortunately these symptoms may be so severe that treatment is discontinued. The nasal mucosa is responsible for heating and humidifying the air we breath. Research has shown the increased airflow of CPAP/BiPAP can overwhelm our natural ability to humidify inspired air. As a result, the nasal mucosa may become dry, irritated and swollen. The HC150 adds heated humidification to standard CPAP therapy, maintaining mucosal hydration and preventing discomfort.
INTELLIGENT AMBIENT TRACKING
During the night, room temperatures often drop. When this occurs, humidification users commonly notice condensation and water droplets forming in the tubing. Many find the associated gurgling noise -- commonly known as rainout -- irritating and are often forced to drain the tubing during the night. To overcome this, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has developed the HC150 Humidifier with a unique Ambient Tracking feature. Ambient Tracking adjusts heater plate temperature throughout the night to compensate for changes in room temperature so that condensation is minimized while humidity is maximized.

It works, kind of
It has taken some getting used to. The heat selector dial is not very precise so it’s a bit hard to figure out the right setting that gives enough humidity without running out before morning. The whole reason for buying this was to get a bigger water chamber that would last the whole night, and my results have been spotty.

Met all my expectations especially because it is a universal device that works beautifully with my CPAP.
I had to retire my Phillips CPAP because of a recall. There was no indication from them as to when or how they were going to rectify their device problem so I had to buy another brand of CPAP machine. Unfortunately, the company that used to provide heated humidifiers for it stopped manufacturing that device so I had to research to find something compatible with my new CPAP. I then discovered your humidifier, ordered it and it worked beautifully.

Good Replacement for my original passive humidifier
Was exactly what I was looking for as my CPAP is too old to purchase the original humidifier specifically made for it. This unit should work with anybody's system. I have not tried the heater yet but that may be an option this winter.

Works well
Got this because I missed a humidifier on my Z1 at home, If you set the control too high there is significant "rainout". It is not really portable as the bulkiness precludes the purpose of the compact travel Z1 but I can live without it on trips. It does what I want it to do at home as an add on humidifier.
