Premium Chinstrap for CPAP Therapy

The strap is too small and Imwas told a larger size was not available……

“Premium Chin Strap”, I’m not convinced. This is my fourth chin strap over the years, the most expensive, but not the easiest to use. The chin strap was not properly assembled in manufacturing; the adjustable support strap was installed wrong making it difficult to use. Better illustrations on the instructions and on the web site would have been very helpful. It does, however, feel reasonably comfortable.

Had it VERY tight too. Skip this one. Direct Home Medical is fine and reliable but this particular product isn't.

It was to hot to wear. Not that easy to make fit properly and to much velcro. Hair was caught in it and pulled out.

I have used the Ruby chinstrap before. This one is more comfortable (after I wrapped some t-shirt material around the chin part), doesn't stretch as much/easily, and can be adjusted tighter than the Ruby. It does still stretch some, but mostly just the first few days/weeks then stays pretty stable. I cut off an old piece of Velcro strap and put it on the slotted strap area, on the other end of the rear strap loop, to keep the slotted section from splitting too far apart (the slotted section is too long, for a lot of adjustment). Needs a cushion material between the chin portion and your chin, or the seam in the middle will irritate your chin (and leave a long red mark). I cut up squares of a clean old cotton t-shirt (quadruple layers) and that works perfectly for me and easier to clean than the headband - just throw in the washer. This way you need to only wash the headband itself once in about every few months (without sweat). Also I was told by the CPAP pro that the Ruby pulls backward on the chin and that's bad for sleep therapy. This one just pulls upward and she recommended it.

When adjusted correctly it really works. For me it does not completely prevent mouth breathing, but it keeps my chin in place so that the Amara View fits without leaking above the chin.

Very difficult to use and does not work very well. I thought I was getting a one piece device instead there are several steps in getting the thing on. I really am not happy with it and would like something else however, I can not tell by looking on internet exactly how these devices work.

Too bulky, doesnt fit well, uncomfortable

I have used this item for about two years and it is clearly the best I've found. It is well made, easy to clean, and comfortable. I'd recommend this item.

Did not find it functional or practical for wear.

I tried to take the measurements but I obviously did it wrong because I got the large size (I cannot wear most hats I have a big head apparently) but it's much too big and cannot cinch it tight enough. I am now wearing a headband strapped under my chin around my head and it works beautifully. I also wear a cpap and I can tell the whole thing would have been much too cumbersome. I gave it three stars because it's well made and comfortable but for me even the smaller one won't work.

After trying two other designs I decided to try this one. My gripes: 1) I found this chinstrap to be itchy as the dickens. All of them are to some degree, but this one takes the cake. I have ALS and can't reach to scratch where it itches. 2) The wide split strap crosses my ear, and, in combination with my Golife head gear, makes it very uncomfortable. On the positive side, this chinstrap is very effective at keeping my mouth closed.

I have tried several chin straps during the last 2-1/2 years of using the CPAP machine. This is the best chin strap I have tried and is relatively comfortable (as far as chin straps go). Several I have had cause my chin to ache and then if I loosen it, I end up opening my mouth during sleep.

Delivered fast and as promised. Quality Name brand product at great prices. Will pruchase again! Works much better than my last strap from another name brand manufacturer.

This chinstrap, with the cup, is a vast improvement over the strip-type chinstrap I was using. The comfort level is great, as I no longer rub the bottom of my chin raw. My only complaint is that the straps are a little too long, leaving loose ends that occasionally snag. Even so, my rating is actually closer to 96% than only 4 stars. This is a chinstrap well worth the money.

The chin strap has really helped my husband to sleep quieter therefore I sleep better
